Anyone know anything about registering something like a Daf 4x4 or similar sized goods vehicle as an agriculture vehicle? Seems a bit of a grey area as far as I can see so far...

I know a farmer/pheasant shoot that registered a daihatsu four track as agricultural once it failed its mot. Never left the farm and think it had to do less than 1000 miles on public roads and he ran it on red.

What advantage do you think you will gain?

I had a old hilux registered as limited use I think that's what you want to go for!i went to a Dvla office sign a few bits of paper stating it will not travel more than 2 miles away from base. It's a grey area I took it all over there was no mot and run on red diesel and free tax

More just curiosity. I've seen a few trucks around and they look pretty useful. A cheaper alternative to a mog I guess?

Well you cant run it on red if you are going to cart goods on the road, You cant go more than a couple of miles legally, it wont get you around "O" licencing if the powers that be decide you don't qualify for the agricultural exemption, same goes with your driving licence.

Unfortunately the government tightened up on Ag usage, or rather the loss of revenue.

Gone are the days of winging it on AG because "its a bit like forestry" and that's "a bit like agriculture"

my friend has a navara reg'ed as agric, I think this I what he said but not 100% sure. he can drive no more than 1km on the road in one go but if he has 5 fields spaced as 1km apart he can drive to one then the next and the next and so on. he had to fill in a map showing wear he would be driving also showing that it was no more than 1km between stops. he can only use the truck for his own work not for hire or reward

Well being a farmer it is just agriculture for me. I don't understand how say a daf 4x4 that's agriculturally registered would be limited on mileage when an ag registered unimog isn't limited so much?
