Go and buy a big shot - you will not be disappointed - I used mine on the same day I purchased it to access a 25m Beech tree for inspection - 2nd shot I had a line 20 - 22m up - perfect and saved so much time!

 

You need to buy the head, base pole and extension poles separately - the poles are used for pruning tools too so mega handy

I would probably be interested if I was doing 200' gums in Oz.

Not worth it here.

 

To true! People may think it'll save time but I highly doubt it will... Train your groundie well enough and his first job is always to get the ladder of and to the first branch!

I'm not a climber or anything but I had a thought the other day! I occasionally do a little spear fishing and thought that a slightly modified spear gun would be ideal for getting a throw line up? You can pick up a cheapy spear gun for less than £50. Bearing in mind I'm a farmer and don't have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to health and safety....:blushing:
