Out of hours charge

Emergency charge

Copper asked me charge

I pushed my luck but it worked charge

Call it what you like but a base charge for something not in the diary followed by an hourly rate. When it then gets to the council they can see what you charged and why and should be able to get a rough idea should you be needed in the future.

You could just say tree work - one million pounds. I wouldn't expect to get much further work though.

On the other hand if you charge too much the council may well turn around and refuse to pay as you were never asked by them to do the work.

I think reasonable is best.

At the end of T day it's your fellow ratepayers who pay anyway.

You took an opportunity, found you could charge for something you may have done just for karma. We all would take these 'gifts'

Don't spoil it and go greedy- the money won't last long but the effect on your psyche last much longer.

you are lucky that council agread to pay without you being on there aproved list of contractors and they know your hourly rate. plus having the insurance what the council require which is 10mil.

i used to do these jobs now and again as a good citizen but having the council not agreaing to suport me if i did this work i now just leave it and let the council sort it out.

plus when i asked if i found trees over road and cleared them would they pay me they refused saying that they would get a contractor out to do it. so stuff them now only do work if i get a email reqesting to do job.

That sounds about right for the council to be fair
