Bt45 wood drill

Got a strange job in the new year where I need to drill through 25" stumps and need to know if this is man enough?

I've used them for ecoplugs, the drill will manage it if you keep the bit clear. The chucks supplied won't grip a 13mm round bit if the going gets tough, find a bit with a hex shank.

Thanks for that, what's the longest bit you've used in one? As I need to drill the full width of the stump

Ecoplug bits are 13mm but they have a depth limiter of 30mm. Bradpoints don't pull in like ordinary augers with a thread at the tip and this is preferable to stop jamming.

 

Previously I used longer bits on an atom drill attachment for a husqvarne 268 in the days I did cable bracing. I feel sure the BT45 would manage the same.

In west London at the moment, but the job I need it for is in Shropshire

Done 25mm 25" through oak with mine so yes it's up to it just draw the bit back every few inch to clear the chips or it'll clog then you could be stuffed. Like said. You will need a bit with a hex shank or the chuck will slip.

Not used one like this but personally I'd buy a few lengths of the bits you need. Start the hole with the shortest one then keep going up to the next size if that makes sense

I've used it for drilling and placing Eco plugs. I thought it was a cracking drill, the company who owned it who I was subbing in for welded a big washer on the drill bit as a stopper so you couldn't drill to far which I thought was a good idea
