I live right in the sodden center of it, love it even when its chucking it down. Not many places in England with such a desolate feeling when your right in the middle of the moors. Beautifull on a Sunny day too. But youv'e got to like rain to live on Dartmoor!

hello matthew my wife used to live up at merrivale near princetown are you far from there or chagford side

Princetown. Do quite a bit of fencing around Merrivale and even the drop from Princetown to Merrivale can sometimes be the difference between a clearish day and thick fog. How long ago did your wife live in merrivale, there's only about 3 houses there!

I was working in and around Yarna Woods. Not the heart of the Moor, but lovely. Like I said, you guys are very lucky.

The weather was surprisingly good, it only rained most days.

I know the one. Used to regularly cycle and run past it. Certainly is bleak up there. Dartmoor inn at Merivale is probably my closest pub as the crow fly's. Used run up there for cycle club meetings then back over the moors with a headtorch after a few pints  Ahh happy days.
