2013 rigging photo competition

So in 8th place we have dexta's photo of the rigging from ground view, quality photo and a perspective we rarely get to see

 

 

In 7th place was this cracking shot from Al cormacks team. Great timing

 

 

In 6th place is Tony W's crane picture, there were a few crane pictures on here but this one kind of did it for me.. Great effort

 

In 5th place was josharbs speedline, for me personally I think it's a great knowledge to have in the bag of tricks for any climber, weather it's a full blown setup or just a simple zip line.., and produces great photos

 

So in no particular order I thought both of these photos deserved either 4th and 3rd place some great action shots from both benn and John, big timber being rigged in 2 different ways but producing the same image from 2 different perspectives... Awesome shots guys

 

Which brings me to the final 2 photos from David and drew.... Who will be the winner.... I'll reveal all after my dinner!!

So 2nd best for me is David's fracture rigging photo, it's cool to see rigging used to create something we mostly try to avoid doing very nice set of photos David thanks for sharing .

 

And 1st place is without a doubt is Drew bristow's heli rigging photo. A well captured photo by epic proportions. Thanks for putting them up mate. .

There was always only winner in my opinion, fine image Drew,

tells the story of the operation in one single dramatic/dynamic shot

Benns, timber section for me as it captures the movement of the timber with the sawdust displacement. then no4 i dont know why but i feel the whole picture is set out nicely and finally drews because it has a chopper in it.

Agree with all three picture choices and reasons for them being nominated.. Ben's is very cool...like Ian said the sawdust plume looks great

....fracture pruning and (shearing off) using rigging to control it is great modern Arboriculture...love it! I first saw Drew's Heli-rigging shot a while back and liked it so much I saved it...Well done Drew...a monumental picture!:thumbup:

Wow. Cheers everyone- I actually chose benns as my fave but I'll accept the honour. All the pics were great, big high 5s to everyone. Here to 2014 being another successful year of trees n pics. Stay safe everyone.and thanks Adam.
