I have 25m3 of norway spruce and 125m3 of sweet chestnut going to be roadside in January 2014 in Dorchester Dorset.

I know its not the best firewood but anyone interested? Really need to be aiming at the fencing market I guess but this seemed like the best forum to start a thread.

Mensuration in both spruce and chestnut showed a mean diameter at breast height of 24cm/9.5 inches.

The Norway spruce is a thinning of heavily overstocked P.1965 trees.

The Sweet chestnut is a mixture of coppice and maidens and the dbh range was 11cm/ 4 1/3 inches - 54cm/ 21 1/3 inches. Its pretty straight and the one I felled as a sample was one of the larger stems and it had no sign of ring shake.

I am new to this so would like to invite prices so please PM me with any offers.

Just to give you an idea, I have been offered £20 per m3 for the spruce biomass and £50 per m3 for a parcel of the smaller diameter chestnut - unfortunately they only want around 15-20% of the chestnut available so I need to consider my options.

If anyone not interested (and therefore impartial) would like to offer their thoughts on what is the going rate for each species, I would appreciate it.

I have also submitted details onto woodlots today which I think will take them a day or two to publish so I am hoping to generate a some interest somewhere.

Thanks.
