We work with the World's Most Dangerous Hand Tools .. Holding head to the side (Left) is a Precaution .. NOT Prevention unfortunately.

Remember working in London with a crew, One of which had Felled a huge Ash .. Led on the floor ready to be 'Ringed' .. As our Team Leader walked off to make a call to the Boss, a 2nd Climber took it upon himself to start logging .. After we were all told to shift what had already been cut (Over a small brook with a make shift foot bridge) .. Using the 880 the 2nd Climber must of hit a Knot/Hard material in the Timber .. Huge Kick-Back that he wasnt ready for, Shot back and came 1-2" from his Neck and Collarbone, (Left Side). Needless to say this shook him up pretty bad and has now taken 6 months off work to Travel n Ski around France.

Be careful out there people .. Might be a wage .. Might well be your Life :001_cool:

Well done for the post Ash & for manning up in the face of some direct feedback.

Should put this on B&Q (or other similar hardware outlets) website to spook all the wrinkleys buying saws from a pretty extensive range.

I was considering that pal. I know people have got mixed feeling upon the situation. And are saying comments it's your own fault! Yes that's the whole point! I am trying to prevent people doing the same thing as me! And perhaps may save afew peoples eyes! Rule number 1 is!!! Never attempt to opporate a defective saw!!! No matter the job? Number 2 take grat care when opporateing any tool!!! Always wear a visor and not just ear defenders like lots do! Thumbs up matey ;) ashley

Hi mate just read your thread....sorry to hear about your bad luck, and hope your felling better, If its any consolation from all the flak, I have a scar on my right hand palm as big as the bottom of a whisky shot glass just from hitching up a chipper, accidents are easily done and just can be a bit of bad luck!!!

keep your pecker up:thumbup1:

I am sure everyone on here has had an accident and realised their mistake afterwards. About 2 years ago I was using a jig saw with blunt blade put both hands on to apply more pressure. Put my left hand index finger between the body of the saw and the hex head bolt that jigs up and down. Unfortunately they are low geared and the gap is only 2-3mm the bolt went through my nail and smashed the end of my finger to bits. Had to sit down for a bit while the cold sweats wore off. Bugger did that hurt. Still no feelling in tip of the finger. Wife refused to take me to minor injuries until East Enders had finished. :001_rolleyes:
