Debit/Credit card machines?

Hiya,

Does anyone use a mobile Debit/Credit card machine? If so does it work ok for you? I have been thinking about maybe getting a mobile pay as you go type of thing as I have heard some people talk about them. I appreciate they cost a bit but the small cost will be passed on to the customer. Im fed up with the usual "havnt got any cash at the mo" type of responce when it comes to payment after doing a job! Cheques are ok but by the time I have finnished work the bank is shut, its extra hassle and being a small business cashflow is important so would like a way of getting payment easier and not having to wait atleast 3 days for cheques to clear (normally more including weekends). Any ideas??

Regards,

Anthony.

What phone do you have, currently? There are portable payment devices that can be attached to your smartphone and used for card transactions. Theres no monthly subscription, just a small percentage taken from each transaction.

I have a mobile gprs unit with cardsave, which is multi network and rarely have connection problems.

I wouldn't be without it and although the fees can add up for the stuff we have subbies deliver it means we get paid before we deliver, and for jobs we get paid on the day.

Cheers for the replies! I got a crappy old Samsung at the mo, its not a smartphone! I have a Sony Xperia Z which is currently busted.....long story but if your thinking of buying one DON`T! The screens crack on their own and arnt covered by warranty, insurance etc.........

Some good points to think about here, thanks!:)
