bowl turning thread

Hi all, may be after another bowl. Something a little different this time, a wool dispenser for knitting/crochet. Similar to the image below, just a simple bowl with steep sides, maybe a slight narrowing at the top. Around 7-9inches diameter, and 4-6inches tall. Then a 3 or 4mm ish 'J' cut down about half way, with a 10-15mm hole at the end of its tail, obviously with no catchy bits, for the wool to feed through.

I'm not too fussed about what wood, but darker colours are preferred.

If any one can give me an idea of cost, and what it could look like (maybe you've got a bowl lying around which would just need the J cut out?) please post here or PM me.
