Open to dispute but predator build quality pales in comparison to the Yanks.

I agree Very Little beats the yanks but its 2k cheaper and a lot more basic so less to go wrong?

Horses for courses.

2k what's that? 4 days grinding maybe.

I believe with chippers, because, relatively speaking, they don't work as hard, you can go a bit more lightweight. Grinders really suffer so overweight, over engineered is better.

Just my thoughts mind. Others may differ.

I was on site hour and a half . Love sitting down grinding lol.

Good result then.

I can't believe that in the U.K stump grinding pays THAT well:confused1:

I thought you where all awash with people offering grinding by the inch.

This afternoons stump was 1km from base and just over a metre in diameter but felled 2 years previously and so already a little soft.

We tried to get a load of a Bandit hydro machine on loan but none available it seems.

One thing I am pleased about is that now we have absolute proof that the problem with the 4012 is very real and that it is intermittent in it's nature and that the machine was delivered to us with this fault.

I have also found a source of teeth half the price of the U.K Carlton main dealer and a supplier of diamond discs at a fraction of what the same company are asking.

Send you a copy of the invoice if you want?

They were 2 big stumps say 1m across each easy access hour and a half with sharp teeth on the carlton easy work.

Yes there are loads of small firms with small machine grinding conny stumps cheap but not so many that can do big stuff as well. The 4012d is a torquey machine in a small package.

Glad yours is getting sorted now.

I find that the stumps that pay the best are those in places too tight for a mini-digger and too large to dig out by hand.

For these I can use the HB20 and charge the earth.

The series of big grinding jobs I've reserved for the 4012D are due to start up again tomorrow. Lucky we got a loan machine... so we are going out with the 2 machines to make up some lost time.

I'll post the source and price of the teeth once I have the invoice.

Regards

Ty
