hi guys,

i just wanted to get some opinions about the how much a qualified climber should be getting roughly.the reason for that is my current employer changing my job title and contract and they will be looking into my salary.so i had a look at jobs on the net to have an idea but they confused me even more im currently working for £9 hr 37 hrs a week so this is my opportunity to ask for a pay rise or shut up and carry on:confused1:

what you guys think what i should do

i have just over 2 years experience with following tickets

cs30-31-32-38-39-41-47

Ive done a evaluation trees for hazard course

i have MEWP LICENCE

pa1-pa6 sprayin licence

im nearly finished a level 2 customer service course

i can use all gardenin tools including chippers-stum grinders etc..

done first aid at work

manual handling and h&e trained

(i know its not related but i have nvq2 joinery:001_rolleyes:)

thats all i can remember at the moment

Come and work for me for a day and I'll tell you how much you're worth.

I've had guys with more qualis than you who should have paid me, they were such a liability.

I've also had guys who couldn't write their name on paper but were superb arborists.

Do you fall into the latter category mate?

:lol::lol::lol:

No, I cant climb and can just about read & write:laugh1: I have worked with and had climbers doing work for me, 2 examples no1 had loads of tickets and all the nice shiny gear, but took over half an hour (not exaggerating) to reach the first limb of a 40ft willow (ivy), when he did finally get to the limb I wanted removing he cut it off in one straight onto a garden shed. No.2 left school and went to merrist wood for a 9 week block course and according to every arb related person who has worked with him he is the best theyv seen, hes 52 now ,still climbing likes hes in his twentys. As you say tickets mean nothing in relation to your ability:thumbup1:
