Been using it on my velocity today I get what you mean about jerkey deceits but it slack tends really well, I like it:) what do you think is suspect about the bend in the rope?

It looks to me as if the bend is taking all the weight and the links aint holding much, hence the jerkyness.

But surely as the bend is just a Pully it won't hold any weight cos as soon as weight goes on to it it will turn? Don't know if that made any sense? Theirs one way to find out just pull some slack up through the Pully so the ropes tight on the links but lose for the Pully. Again sorry if it makes no sense!

Blooming fingers. The XTC Fire tended pretty well after about 15 ft. Descents no different from the mk1. Quickly back in to the way if it. Jerky descents were a factor before, but only until you get used to it.

Looking forward to trying the Blue Tongue though.

Its not the bend on the pulley its the one on the first link. After that the rope goes straight through the others in a straight line due to lack of diameter. With a 11.5 the bend is less and the links above seem to grab more like they are designed to. So what im trying to say is I can see why you are not supposed to use 11mm as the weight is not applied evenly through the device. If you get what I mean???

You enjoying it Jim?

Absolutely, Paul. Really missed it when it was recalled. And you were called every name under the sun when you mentioned you were getting to trial the new one.

I'll miss some of the Hitchclimber's functionality, but not much!
