Radmore have an Echo CS-310es for 178 quid delivered. From what I have seen and heard it is a super saw with a 5 year warrenty.

 

I Had it in my hands a couple of days ago. Its a very nice machine, what's more its the same saw as the CS-352 that TGB recommended but with a slightly smaller engine and a lot cheaper! And made n Japan.

stihl 170/171 or husky 135 like others have said very accurate with the narrow chain, ideal for fencing work, having said that my jred 2150 goes everywhere with me

Hi all ,

I am glad I found this thread, as I was going to ask the same sort of question.

I have a husky 236e that I bought 3 years ago for cutting back hedges and trimming struts and strainers etc. It has had more spent on it than it cost me and is now playing up again so time to replace it.

 

I was thinking of getting an ms 170/171 (mainly because they use the same size chain as my ht 131 & I could swap chains etc), or a ms 181 ( because it is slightly more powerful).

Any thoughts or recommendations or other suggestions ?

I have a stock fencing business and use a chainsaw every day as you do, I use echos, best saws I have ever owned, I have a 357xp and a 346 xp and hardly ever use them. Ive got a cs 420 es at present and its a dream, the best starting saw ever and light weight. Ive run it over with my tracked dumper, lost it in a pond before now and it stops/starts 100's of times a day and never misses a beat! would recommend one

What about a sabre saw? These are great and don't need as much maintenance.

If you get an MS181, any decent dealer should be able to supply it with the 1.1mm gauge chain rather than the 1.3mm. That's what I do, it runs it much better than the 1.3mm also.

Id second that CS 420 are great little saws even done my cs32 with mine.

Thanks for your advice chaps, ( I don't mean to hijack this thread bye the way), ordered an echo cs352es earlier this week and had a play with it today . Really pleased with it and glad I took your advice , I can't believe how light it is.

Also excellent service & price from radmores,highly recommend them.
