How to keep rope in pantin?

Hi all. I have noticed that when using the pantin, when I lift my foot up to move the pantin up the rope, the rope sometimes pops out! Do you have any way that I can stop this happening all the time? Any pics would be a great help too!

Just cliip a mini-crab through the hole mate. Rope can't come out till you take the crab off.

There's a hole on the older pantin for a clip, cant see where you'd stick it on there tho bud! Just outta interest i find the elderid clips with the rounded kinda 8 shape the best to use for this purpose, easiest to get in and out:)

The hole marks talking about is not on the new ones so can't be done, I've not had a good look at one yet so can't comment

yeah bro the olds one you can clip bineer in but the new ones you cant. the key is when standing on your pantin try and push in a straight line down the rope not, outwards if you know what i mean. this keeps it in and when you want to get it out push your foot outwards and to the right little bit and should come out.

 

practice going up slowly and really think about your movements and you should suss it now worries.

TBH, I don't use the crab any more, Matt explains it well in his post.

I always get my groundy to hold the rope until I get up far enough for the weight of the line to keep it in.

Groundys are always busy doing nothing so gave up that idea way back, a little grab and 16oz throw back does the trick...

Ah now that's a cleaver trick! So the throw bag adds weight to the line to keep it in the Pantin? Nice!!
