Hi did you have any luck finding your grinder? Be interested to hear once you do a what you went for and how it grinds.

Anyone got any opinions on whether its worth paying the extra to have a self drive pedestrian grinder or not. From what I can see they look the same as the push grinders, just wondered if the self drive benefits the units grinding capabilities or not?

Even manually pushed grinders are heavy, and pulling them up slopes is a pain. also pulling them back over sawdust and generally manoeuvring can be difficult. They are often advertised as being lighter, but even 2 men can struggle to lift most of them.

The self-propelled machines can climb slopes, track themselves up trailer ramps, and crawl over dust piles with ease. Considerably heavier, but arguably less effort and more capability.

Our pedestrian push pull grinders & our pedestrian self propelled are chalk & cheese, there are no similarities what so ever with these machines. As already commented the self propelled versions will go anywhere, swivel turntable, low ground pressure wheels, hydraulic brakes when grinding, 14hp extra but to mention a few differences.

i have not found one yet. having trouble with my truck at the moment so the grinder may be on the back boiler for the moment!

it good to get peoples opinion.

i have done a lot of grinding with a vermeer self propelled grinder which was easy peasy to use and fairly powerfull- not sure i will be getting any of that luxury when i eventually get one.
