6x6 12ft green oak beams

Hi everyone.

I am relatively new to milling and I am wondering what the market value for 12 foot long 6x6 green oak beams. I have been asked by the boss to mill some for him to use in his garden. I have the timber already and just need to mill them. Obviously I won't be charging full wack but need to make it pay. I'm not worried about my time costs just rough value.

mid £50's upwards, depending on grade.

He is after 6 of them and I suspect the grade will be pretty good.

That sounds a lot, (I'm not doubting it) just surprised, I don't think I will be charging £100 each to the boss tho.

I sell dimensioned oak and elm at £25 cubic foot. So £75 a beam.

big j's prices are more realistic. any more would be a bit steep in my opinion.

Would love to charge 35 for out beams, not even graded is that much!
