thought so... thanks geoff:thumbup: i am going to go down to .50mm the fit the bar upside down and try that..

chris

Might want to go a bit more than .50mm, but that will be a good start,if they all look more you might run them at .60 or even .70mm,:001_smile:

it says 0.65mm in the manual so went for around 0.50mm,

after sharpening the chain it was cutting so much better but i found the teeth where longer on one side of the chain so after sorting that out and dropping the cutter stop depth to .50mm it should cut nice..i hope

Tbh I tend to file it down with the gauge and then give it 2 more rubs with the file so it's more of .7-.75, the higher depth gauges stop the chain cutting, and at that length it's a pita as you cut nothing

Me too, especially if I'm cutting a lot of softer wood.:001_smile:

That's for oaks and stuff, when I used my 236 for felling Corsicans, it almost had no depth gauge left, those models of huskys/rebrands have a fair bit of pull for a cheap, crappy saw

ironic you should say that too... i think the chain is like a d&%k in a bucket as far as the fit to the bar.. it seems way too loose, the slot is around 1.60mm even 1.68 in some places and the chain drive teeth are 1.3mm wide, so real sloppy

There's your problem. Like Stubby says, probably the wrong gauge chain for the bar.

In all honesty, I'd try for a new bar looking at the photos. I'd also throw it and the chain away regardless and fit a new one. Ask RobD on here and he'll see you right first time. :thumbup1:
