I'm in the same situation. Looked up the cut and climb the other day as i thought it was around £70. Haha! Nope! I'd rather just bring a spare t shirt or two to change into at break times.

Has anyone tried one?

I know the Cut and Climb is da bomb, but I fancy something with a hood that is 100% waterproof. Breathability is unimportant as I am quite happy to stand and do nothing.

These are made of Flexothane, whatever that is.

About £65.

Bloody soaked again today.

I use the lightweight one mark, okay in the wet for short periods, great in the cold, durable and low snag. As with most fully waterproof jackets = hot and horrid.

Oh you should send your driver into the off licence, how rude.

As for raincoats, being in Ireland where it mostly rains, I have come to the conclusion that nothing will really keep you dry and if it does you sweat to death. Plus when you descend the prussik milks the nice brown water straight up your arm.

I have two cheap coats and a couple of spare t-shirts and jumper, nice wee space under the drivers seat of the transvestite for them.

All rain jackets are crap!!!

You get wet from the neck, the sleeves and sweat.

I have the Cut & Climb jacket and to be honest I don't see what every one raves about. It's really no different to any other mid range waterproof!

Just my opinion but I really wouldn't spend the fortunes these jackets are!!

I know I'm not in the future.

I've had a montane superfly for 7 years and its done well. I've reproofed it plenty of times and only in the last year has it lost it waterproof ability. For a lightweight jackets its really hardwearing as well
