Phone call from l/a

Licensing is not the way to stop flytipping imo, unless of course the monies went into putting hidden cameras on regular flytip spots, but we all know it will go into financing second homes for MP's and not where it is supposed to go.

There is a spot near me where flytipping happens daily, to me that is a prime "trapping" spot. They are just not bothered to be honest.

I have a flytip spot near me and when I move yard it will be right next to me, I am going to go to the expense of installing a dome camera on a tower, radio linked to my house cctv system.

I will serve to protect my assetts but also the coucil will be getting regular phone calls from me with reg numbers :001_smile:

The point here is why should joe public have to spend extra money to stop flytippng outside their property.

Ditto. The whole complicated process encourages fly tipping IMO. Paying £45 for minimum 1 ton tipping fee plus travel plus time etc etc for a single flippin leaf (what the EA want to enforce) or...

Come on...dish it!:sneaky2:

There are exemptions to the rule, tree surgeons are one of them. Customers have contracted you to remove their waste. I,ve really argued with the EA in the past by phone and eventually I saw their point......Its up to you really as to decide if you need one or not. As long as you can stomach the £300 fine, then carry on as you are. Or pay £150 for three years, then £90 for the next three years and when you get a pull, (which you will cos they,re clamping down) you can tell em to f off and get a proper job cos youre covered.

Just that there are comments like

" Use in landscape applications. Examples include weed suppressant, decorative woodchip, pathways and arena chip. The material must be stored and applied to land as specified either in an environmental permit or an exemption under Paragraph 7 of Schedule 3. The wood remains waste until it is applied to land.

Use in animal bedding. Examples include cattle, horse and pet bedding. Untreated waste wood must be stored and used either as specified in an environmental permit or an exemption under Paragraph 15 of Schedule 3. The wood remains waste until incorporated into animal bedding"

"whole trees and the woody parts of trees including branches and bark derived from forestry works, woodland management, tree surgery and other similar operations (it does not include clippings or trimmings that consist primarily of foliage2);

2 The leaves of a tree, or leaves on the stems or branches on which they are growing"

So if you dont prune or fell conifers or prune trees when they have leaves on you will probably be ok :001_smile:

Unless it can be explained to me a bit better it looks like I need one :confused1:

Quite possibly:001_smile:

Its all just a total farce I think!

Exactly what I think.

I don't mind complying and paying licences etc, if I can see the reasoning behind it and quite frankly ( and I'm sure I'm not alone) I'm struggling with this one.

One problem with us brits is we don't complain, we just casually accept what they throw at us and take it lying down. It might be only a £1 a week but thats a pound a week that could go to a charity.

I am one of these people that will gladly pay more tax, if it guaranteed to give us a better Police, fire and NHS service, I would be first in the queue, but come on boys, where's your backbone, you should be writing to your local MP asking why we are paying this if we can show and prove all our waste is used or sold

:congrats:

I have said exactly the same thing.:001_smile:

Wouldnt mind being taxed a bit more as long as ALL of the extra tax went into improving the systems you quoted and we could see exactly how its spent, otherwise it would just disappear into paying MP's third and forth house's :sneaky2:

I dont understand the details of why we need a license tbh, I applied for one and got it without having to say where I take my 'waste' or what I do with it.

No doubt if I do get pulled over I will prob still get a fine for not keeping proper records!

I am waiting for someone to post that the EA have fined them for not having septic tanks to take run off from stored chip, will prob be then next thing they start doing!

Anyway to end on a lighter note the weather was nice today and we did some cracking little easy jobs that all the customers were well happy with :001_smile:
