My new lowering style is all controlled and smooth after watching too many of Reg's vids. Not a shock load in sight...

 

That 19mm double esterlon might do you. Nod at Treeworker would know. So would JJG I reckon.

i prefere the english braid to double esterlon and i have both

nicer to handle and tie knots and a bit more supple

when you say big bits what size stuff are you on about?

 

As big as you dare go with a capstan size!

 

So basically there is only really a choice of two then, EB and esteron,my previous yale rope has served me well but is glazed, frayed and pretty old and it worryingly seems to grow 2 ft when loaded evan with as much slack out of the set up as possible,well atleast its not three strand.

 

I might give the english braids rope a go any one else tryed it.
