We have both(3.5t) Canter is more nippy manuvable but drinks the juice. Transit has a lot more space on the back, economical, and a lot cheaper to buy. My choice would be the transit.

We haven't had any trouble with the transit. I prefer it mainly because it has more space on the back. Everyone's kit plus grinder and the canter is nearly full before you even start. The canter is a nicer drive but space wins for me.

Transit will always be cheaper to fuel and run (parts are way cheaper and often on the shelf). It also has a lot mover room in the cab. Canter is more powerful and has a 3.5 tonne two weight.

That's my two pence. I also find the canter is more truck like to drive.
