Biggest gross weight is 44 tonnes, that includes the weight of the truck and trailer. Timber weight will depend on vech but likely to be 23-27 tonnes.

 

£500 for a load is still very good value.

Seems to apply to indivisible loads, so not applicable to a load of wood.

 

Exactly:

Transports Friend - Authorisation of Special Types (General Order 2003) - STGO

 

No way timber haulage would comply with STGO requirements unless it was a single large trunk. Even then most timber trailers only have two or three axles, usually 9t each, thats not enough for most STGO from memory.
