What is the going rate for sharpening chainsaws?

The trouble with that Jon, is that your mate will never learn to do it himself, and you will always do it F.O.C.

I hope he has some skills that he can give you for free, and often.

I would agree Jon if it was a once in blue moon job but it's more like once a week and last one I did it took 50 strokes of the file per tooth to get it back. Took an hour and only charged £7 Aparently cutting trees out of a river bed

It was half the chain Barry but yes file was pretty knackered by the end.

managed to get an edge back on a chain that should have gone in the bin plenty of times with a few strokes.

really. i use oregon and they have been really goods imo. but then i will bin a file long before it gets blunt as they are a consumable to me.

I have probably been too tight and drag them out longer than I should. So what is the files per chain ratio sharpening 15" chains?
