A useful reference for log sellers?

According to those figures I should be getting 2.5 cubic metres of cut logs to a ton of roundwood. My experience suggests otherwise, but then again my FC timber measurement book suggests that only Oak, Beech and Scots Pine are a ton to the cubic metre of solid timber.

I understand that a simplified guide to such things is useful to the home/ stove owner, but this has been simplified to the point of being useless!

They get the first line wrong as 1m is 3.08 feet.

From that first inaccuracy it only gets worse.

Few people using bulk bags of 1m, so why not explain the size of builders bags as well.

As others said, simplified to the point of being worse than useless.

Sorry 1m = 3.28 feet

It is exactly what it says- a handy reference guide designed for home owners, if I knew nothing about wood it would be a good start, as we all know wood is such a variable commodity and to Fred blogs it must be very difficult so to have some thing as a starting point can only be a good thing?

Thank you for sharing wood works. i could do with a similar guide to politics or accounting:001_tt2:

Sounds like I should have looked at it more closely before posting up. I was having a clear out of documents sitting on my computer when I came across it. No idea when I downloaded it but presumed I must have thought it interesting at the time. To be honest I did not think it was that bad but had not noticed the mistakes with feet to meters.

As this has been kicked into touch have any of you got any good guides that you would be happy to share?
