Pricing a job at the moment at a primary school. 37 pines approximately 6' diameter up to about 70' tall. Waste is a major issue. Quick call to stobarts and within a hour had a return call from Neil stobart have got a site meeting with them and they are looking to do the chipping and loading for us. Bit of a result if we win the work.

Why not haul it direct to the new place at Richborough, I think they are after chip there and it is literally just down the road from where you are. Use a local haulier or grab person and surely you'll make more out of it.

Yeah that's thanet waste thought of them on the way home today and will make a call to them tomorrow.

Out of curiosity how did you know where the job is I work all over three counties in the south east?

Why the drop in price. Has the govenment scrapped a subsidy. They shut Slough recently if the chip has to travel further it must make it worth a lot less.

 

New EU rules on traceability to qualify for RHI means most chip can only go to power stations hence prices dropped.

Oh rite lol. No not lucky enough to live and work in the same town. Like most we go where the work is London Essex East Sussex and North and west kent..

I also had a chat with a woodchip buyer recently, due to the high number of loads which get taken with logs and other detritus in, the power plants are thinking got only taking from sites where previous screening has been carried out. This may mean that we have to take the chip to a depot to then be sold. It's going to be a real pain in the oak butt if this is true.
