Extendable bridges for mr shutler!

Pete really got me thinking about how much force i'm putting on my anchor redirect, i'm still a little confused but feel the anchor redirect has its place.

Here is what i've got in my head,,, in my pic if i'm hanging directly below my redirect the double pulley is supporting twice my weight, as i increase the angle i am reducing the load on the pulley, by how much i'm not sure.

There are other factors to consider to, only i'm to tired to think properly right now.

i use a company called 'scotia handling' for all my slings, winch cables, tirfors etc. they gave me an excellent book regarding weights and forces put on cables and the likes, it has excellent diagrams showing you angles and the difference it makes, also chockering slings and stuff. it would be well worth you getting one from a similar company mate.:001_smile:

do you use an extendable bridge with your lock jack dean? one of the boys in work introduced it and i find it makes the lock jack more user friendly alot like the first pictures.

I use a tape sling James, to send the lockjack away from me, then doubled up to bring it nearer or just clip straight to the lockjack to have it close in.

Bob showed me the idea on a climb getogether but he had a anticut shroud round his doubled up tape sling, I think his was a 1200mm doubled up to give 600mm Brill for ascending, just pull on the tail and away you go

hi drew i have been using your bridge idea from the first two photos: just got to say thanks for posting the photos as i find the set up is amazing for climbing. One thing at present is that i am climbing street tree pollards and i have to re anchor alot at the mo so the prussic on the line is a possible snag hazard. any ideas on how to sort the change out quicker? If not i am so impressed i will carry on regardless

cheers again drew for sharing the photos thats why i love this site

the only solution i can think of is too use the one where the actual bridge extends- i stopped using it when i had a prussic on but now ive got a helical instead and it works sweet-def works with the treemotion but not sure about other harnesses, i think it would be sweet ona butterfly too. When you have to re anchor a lot they all become a bit of a pain apart from this one.

glad there working for ya mate!!
