take the 4 main leaders out it at that hieght and dress up the edges, its a garden cherry, if you do this now it will have a chance to survive a long life, leave it any higher and nieghbours will get scunnered and butcher it, we arent talking text book tree pruning here mat, i am being realistic. force the internal growth and it will be a hedgecutter job every year and it will be nice and tight and suit the garden size, offering screen to the houses and a nice bit of shade and colour:001_smile:

 

 

I'm with you on that one, the tree is pretty overbearing in the garden by the sounds....

 

The picture below is something close to my initial thoughts.. but I may well advise her to cut it right back so that she can keep it manageable.
