Not a bad day despite the torrential rain first thing. The birds flew extremely well and the keeper gave me an extra £20 for saving the first drive of the day. He couldn't see half the drive trying to escape on our side of the ridge and the topside flanker wouldn't move. So got the running legs on and went wide. Got the birds back into the drive, i could only see about 20 heads popping up and down out of the turnips but moved about 200 birds according to the keeper. The keeper pointed to me after the drive and said that he wants to see more of what i did in the beating line. I have been taught to react to a problem then tell the keeper, not to watch the problem escalate into a disaster then ask if it ok to move. Back there next weds but with my trusted Miroku 12 bore
