I have had my landrover 5 years, in that time I have replaced everything but the chassis and cab, oh and the rear axle.

Its had new engine, infact two because the first didn't measure up, gearbox, transfer box, front axle, discs, calipers, brake pipes, master cylinder, radiator shocks all round, winch, speedo, temp guage, props. If I had empolyed someone to do all that work I'd have had to work for nowt for a year to pay labour costs.

Everything you do for yourself is a job better done and one less overhead

Thats not a good advert for landrover now is it :001_smile:

It isn't the landrovers fault, the landy hasn't broken down or let me down once in six years. It doesn't get chance to, if I hear so much as a slight whine it gets repaired or replaced, it has been ultra reliable

Turbull: I am a fully qualified mechanic, with all the equipment I need to carry out large maintainance and even make some of my own parts.

Don't be fooled, I work seven days a week, I cannot sit down for minute to rest. I am always doing something, if I'm not doing repairs, tree work, pricing, maintaining, repairing, planning apps.... I'm doing logs, walling, fencing or shooting

i love working with trees . and let people who love fixing machines do there job. which allows me more time to work with tree's .

The way I look at it is, if you charge say £30 per hour to do tree work why pay a garage £60 per hour to repair your car if you can do it yourself.

You are working two hours hard graft to pay someone one hours easy work

Or if your not as handy as big Deano, you can do what I do and surround youself with all types of proffessionals. My best pals are a sparky, a plumber, a builder, a mechanic, a panel beater, and a welder fabricator. Work for work anyone. Or work for beer money. haha

But If I can do it. I do do it.

Had a day off aswell today too wet and windy for my liking:001_smile:

Did you try blocking the air intake into the flywheel housing to maybe lesson the amount of air propelling the chip?

Sorry Mesterh, missed this one.

Tried that, it made a slight difference but not much. :001_smile:
