Rape seed mixed 50/50 with super tack from clarkes... I'm not convinced on running no tacking agent on bigger bars and have a few shorter Oregon bars blow there sprockets on pure rapeseed.

Interesting; I had a sprocket on a 25" stihl bar (relatively new) go and wondered re the veg oil. Had absolutely no issues on shorter bars tho i.e. 13, 15, 16, 18, 20"...

Have experimented with this in the past; very very anti fling!

I'll keep my eye open for that,Looks interesting stuff.

On a whole stihl bars are a better design with the greaseless sprockets, I have to be honest and put my hands up to never greasing any of the sprockets on my husky/Oregon bars though... It could explain why I get a relatively short service life from them.

There used to be a theory (rural myth rather) that once you greased the sprocket on oregon bars you had to keep doing it and if you didn't from the start you never needed to! Work that one out! Never did grease them either but they never blew up; husky bars the crappest out there for sure! Red fluid grease wasn't it?

Oh and always crank the oiler up!
