I did consider some sort of steel bungee cord to attach the saw to the chipper while working but it became a bit dangerous lol....

But look at the price of them. Got a ms230 no problem pick it up pull it go's everytime.

Got a 211 for a ground saw. Brilliant for cutting branches to drag out of a back garden (if you cut them properly to drag you shouldn't need a saw by the chipper). My boss uses 181s for the same reason: capable brash saws, and cheap enough that if one breaks or your simple groundie leaves it in the drop zone it's not the end of the world!

My Mistake mine is a Husky 137

I think i paid like 120£ for it about 5-6 years ago and its still going strong, its never needed anything changing like bearings etc,

its ok for whizzing up awkward forks for the chipper and got used alot last week for cutting little willow regen which any saw bigger would just be over kill.

I've used the little stihls ansd would say there a bit more nippy but who cares if its a throwaway item

Mine also gets used a distraction saw for when the neighbours or rellies come asking to borrow a saw and i give them this one knowing its prob going to be run on rubbish 2stroke and engine oil

some times I carry out lowered branches before they touch the ground to avoid mess if the drag is far over lawn etc,saves time so that is why i have a saw by the chipper.

Lots of my work is back gardens with awkward access so if I'm climbing I try and piece out chippable bits that can then just be dragged and chipped. Another plus for a small ground saw is it takes five mins to sharpen when the new lad runs it into the ground!
