Unfortunately we're in a damn contract with this hire company and we get fined if we buy our own plant and we've got 3 more years of contract left to run :-/ and no we won't get new saws yearly these are all were getting if one needs replacing we gotta pay for it via them

hmmmm sounds like a daft contract decision.......

 

thats ridiculious.i far prefer to use my own kit as its far cheaper that way

for that kind of money i would want new ones every year , and no quibble replacements on broken saws.

 

i think i need to set up a hire company !! as there are obviously lots of idiotic companies with more money than sense,

I do indeed work for a council in a fashion

 

We currently pay £60.28 per saw per week regardless of size! £3,134.56 a year each, with a grand total of £56,422.08!!!!!! A year

 

HI MATE then council needs new people to run it £56,422.08 that take the P.SS i no bath council spend lots of money but takes the P.SS THATS MAD :thumbdown:£5K WORTH OF SAW THERE AND THERE PAYING MUST BE A BACK HANDLER GOING SOME WERE :001_rolleyes:THANKS JON :thumbup:

The person who approved that contract should be prosecuted. For that kind of money for the cost of one saw for a year you could buy 4 new ones. That is a scandalous waste of public money. If the council broke the contract and the hiring company took them to court it would be very interesting to see them justifying those rates in front of a judge. It would also be interesting watching the council trying to justify signing such a stupid contract. I wonder if someone from the council thought the weekly rate was actually an annual rate and got a bit of a shock after they had signed it to find out the rates were in fact 52 times higher than they thought it was going to be!
