Hi all. Had enough of my husky now . Off to buy a new one !!

Wondering if any of u have any ideas.

Starts first time when cold and runs fine cuts like a dream.

As soon as I stop it go and start it again it just won't start .

Have changed plug etc . It seems like it only has a problem when warm/hot as soon as its cold again starts fine .

Any ideas how to solve this never come across this before.

Cheers

i had the same problem with my 550, would start fine from cold and run perfect then switch it off, top up fuel and oil and it wouldn't start again.

i sent mine back to FR jones who i bought it off and they fixed it. think it was something to do with the fuel tank if i remember right.

how long have u had it?

Possible low compression, the compression drops with the engine getting hotter so can stop the hit saw starting.

Worth checking the fuel tank vent - the easy way to check the vent is to loosen the fuel cap and do it back up again to see if it helps starting it.

Other than that, check the setting of the L screw on the carb, it may be set a little lean.

Sounds like you've a fuel supply problem. Perhaps the fuel filter needs replacing, maybe the fuel cap breather hole is blocked and not venting properly. Or it could be at the carb; either inside or the fuel pipe expanding and losing a good seal.

When was a last time you changed the fuel filter and or fuel pipe?

Saws about 4 years old been the best saw ever up to now . Never had a problem before and use it daily. It has still got the best compression ever. I will check fuel pipes and filter etc and let you know if that helps. Have put new fuel cap on last week ...

What is the saw? Don't forget the fuel tank vent, usually found on the opposite side of the fuel cap on the rear handle!
