Husky 540xp who's got there's then?

Reckon i might have to pick up a 540 this week or next. Reckon i might demand a set of flippy caps from husky tho.. false advertising indeed, shouldnt let em get away with it

I see, so the flippy caps are falsely advertised as a feature... shame.

Well apart from being disappointed as I'm a climber by trade and still do quite a bit that was also one of my concerns tbh.

 

I'm sure some of the demo testers had ones with flippy caps! Our one didn't but that was a 2011 model.

 

I've prob detailed the thread a bit so will leave it at that.

No bias here have a look, yes im aware of the one handing but sometimes you just have to look danger in the face and enlighten the unenlightened.

I was having a chat to a guy who works for husky about how well the T540XP had been received on arbtalk. He said the only real negative he'd seen was your problem with the strop eyelet. Apparently they experimented with different breaking strains on the clip and some of the weaker ones somehow found there way into production. Sounds like you got one. He said if you take it back to your dealer husky are happy to cover it and any damage it may have caused to the saw.

I have been (ab)using the T540 XP since november 2012 and been happy with it ever since. Never ever had a chainbrake snapped and no problems with the eyelet.

 

I have put this saw to the test for Husqvarna and used it just like I used my other saws before. Great power and the torque is even better compared to the old 200 T.

 

What happended to your saw is not good, and def needs to be sorted out by your husqvarna dealer. But when you handle the saw like a canonbal dangling around on its tail, like some climbers do I am not surpised somethings broke.

 

But can't read or insinuate that just by your story. Even the best chainsaw can't withstand being trashed trough the canopy like a canonball aye
