went to price this beech today, customer said on phone it had a slight split in th trunk, I think its slightly worse than that!

 

due there a week Monday to fell it, but I will be amazed if its still standing, gonna put winch cable up high (with a throw line! don't think anyone would climb that), drop the ground anchor and tear it out.

anyone got a preferable alternative?

I'd go very low with a very shallow gob.

 

id be tempted to go with that, but the spread on the crown is massive, not shy about doing them if they are pretty pole like but with this if it went wrong I d struggle to escape, either way im excited about doing it, don't get many to do like this! Josharb, will leave whatever s left standing as habitat, luckily thay are very switched on clients !
