That's unusual to say the least , what do you do with him ? Take him out side he should fly off if he is still well

Looks like a Pipistrelle. Usually find them roosting in chimneys, loft spaces,etc. As long as they have somewhere sheltered, warm and easy to climb in and out of they will find it.

I'm a little concerned by this pic - top left looks like you got your tackle a bit too close to said fire...

Monkey, it's ok just the first pair of glove I picked up were the ones I'd been using to clean the fire out.

 

He clung on for a while. Even upside down

Not a great pic but what can you expect from a blackberry!

 

He flew away just fine, they're everywhere here, the loft, the out buildings and in just about every mature tree around my house. We had a bat detector out a few nights ago and estimate we heard 20-30 different animals. I wish they'd eat more mozzies though.

wish they would take the bloody wasps or hornets last get in bungalow every night must make a good meal or will they sting a bat hence may not take them
