I'm going to do a job for bloke who needs a crown reduction on a large ash tree, any idea how much I should charge?

Crown reduction to a mature Ash tree..... Why? whats the point ? and who recommended that ? what on earth are they hoping to gain, very short term light improvement followed by massive regrowth which within one year will compound problems of any intended light level improvements , ?

To follow on, think about P&D Inonotus hispidus, Perenniporia fraxinea, then also ask could this mature Ash be one of the few immune trees to Chalara fraxinea, do whats best for the tree in its long life and not whats best for the passing fad of an occupier of a house who may only be their short term. I'm not a dictator just like to post my own view.
