Arbor trolley hire wanted S. Yorks, derbyshire

It is a debate and welcome to it, I am fully aware of how many people make a profit out of the stein trolley,

But as an end user I would prefer to pay the manufacturer of a product a fair price than half a dozen middle men an over inflated price.

Obviously the products have to be of a like quality.

And I think that a trolley could be a useful addition to certain jobs but is it wrong to look at other options than a stein, I think not

It's not a debate. The OP asked where to get one from.

Sounded like he wanted to buy one, not have a load of people being negative about something they have never used.

But that's just my own opinion and what do I know, I've only been using one for about two years nearly every day.

You're mad if you think you can make one for less, the price of steel these days will make the raw materials over £100 when you add wheels and paint, then factor in the time, collecting materials (add fuel cost) 1 day to cut and weld, and a day to paint, (wait for primer to dry, then top coat x2?)....

I value my own time and wouldn't work on my own for less than £200 a day so there's £400 for a start!

I used to make stuff for work, I used to fix all my own vehicles too, I have realised that if you want to make any money its better to get these things done by professionals who have the workshop and equipment to do the job quickly and efficiently. I may spend £2k a year on servicing and repairing my "fleet" but i am aiming to turn over £1000 per day within the company so I'm far better off doing what I do best, killing trees, and leaving the rest to others, as every day lost is £1000 we didn't earn.

Well it might take you a day to fab that up but that's you. I cant see more that a couple of hours in that as a one off and for a production run you would do it in twenty minutes with a jig.

Painting, well I hope you don't sit there watching paint dry, undercoat it and go home, then colour coat the next day, half an hour per coat tops and you could do it with a rattle can.

If you do decide to make one I will gladly supply you that much steel for a hundred quid.:thumbup1:

I'm really sorry to have to point out the obvious but the title of the thread was arbor trolley hire!!!! NOT looking to buy an arbor trolley. The title is at the top of each comment to help. Also as I am the original poster I know exactly what was being asked. Anyway I have managed to source a trolley for the job now. And I will be able to decide for myself the value of one.

SiW, did you buy the computer, tablet or phone that you're looking at now, direct from the factory?

Or was it from a retailer/Capitalist greedy middleman?

😂😂😂

Don't worry, I'm only yanking your chain now.

👍🍻
