Its been great this year weatherwise.T shirts, hoodies, etc, but the last couple of days have taken a turn for the worst, and complacency resulted in a soaking yesterday on a strimming job.

I`ve used a german army surplus flectarn jacket in goretex for a couple of years, but its allowing water in and theres nothing like the feeling of wet down the backs of your arms.

Whats out there? not bothered what it is or how much it costs. All it needs to be is compact, durable, comfortable and waterproof.

What say ye.

There will be the inevitable 'buy a cheap army goretex brigade', but I personally wouldnt swop my Clark cut and climb for anything :thumbup1:

You've set yourself up for a flood of buy military surplus suggestions now

Yeah i know Eddy, and they can be very good, but i`ve got a few sovreigns to spend and sometimes i want to get in character and look a bit proffessional depending on venue. Some customers dont like the off duty squaddie look.

Like the look of that Clark steve.Very good spec. This might turn into a two jacket deal by the looks of things.

I use a flexothane jacket and flexothane bib and brace. Shorts and t'shirt underneath and I feel comfortable all day. I order a size up to keep them on the loose side. Relatively cheap and compact.

I would like the more expensive option Steve. maybe one day.
