Hi, ive got a decent crankcase of a 357 that im hopefully going to build up with 2nd hand parts and a big bore kit nikasil coated off ebay. Fancy a bit of a project for the quieter summer months.

Does anyone here have any second hand parts such as side cases, top case, carb or handle? id be willing to pay.

Also, does anyone have any experience installing a big bore kit for the 357? much of an increase in power? I love the way my normal 357 cuts, but who would say no to a bit extra! Does having a big bore cylinder shorten the overall life of the saw you think?

any tips would be much appreciated, cheers!

Think long and hard about which kit to buy. Most are big bore going are from 357 to the 359 topend which altho a 2cc increase you will lose out as you will be going from closed ports on the 357 to open ports on the 359.

Not sure what ive got, is that all you have is the crankcases? I know I have a still boxed zama el-42 carb on the shelf which is the largest carb available for the 357 but as its only been used once to test a saw I will want reasonable money for it.

Pull start and cover complete , exhaust can , HD air filter and oiler drive if you want to run 3/8th instead of .325 . Any use ?

Also as stated 359 is not as fast as 357 , ports are different and the bolt on port covers can leak . You would be better off going with standard 357 pot and jug and then get spud to port it ! .....

what about the 46mm nikasil coated one HUSQVARNA 357 46MM CYLINDER KIT NISIC COATED 1YR WARRANTY FOR PROFFESIONAL USERS | eBay

ive heard this is the best next thing to the OEM part?

Yes, these are good from tesgol, the only BB kit I've heard recommended is the HyWay kit from America, wisecobandit recently fitted a 372 one
