I've decided I'll learn to footlock and so far so good but I'm unsure what length of prussic to use. The one I'm using at present is way to short. Is there a rough guide to estimate what length you need. The foot side of it I've got spot on its just what length prussic loop once I've sussed that they'll be no stopping me.

I had a go at footlocking on double ropes with a klemheist for the first time yesterday. . . . bugger me was it hard work! i had to wear rubber coated gloves to grip the rope properly and it made me realise just how bad my technique is! haha, its no good getting 25ft off the deck and having a rest as the bloody klemheist bites solid.

A bit more practice is needed on the double rope technique me thinks :001_tongue:

just tie a long footlock strop and then attach a 30cm webbing sling and tie onto your strop. You can then use this as an adjustable length footlock strop.(will also have multiple uses once in the tree)

I like the air streams for footlocking in, the rubber rand seems to grip the rope.
