Getting an urge....

Does anyone else get an urge to go out and cut down some trees.

I just get a good feeling sometimes that I would love to get out and do some felling. Get some time behind a saw rather than taking one to pieces, actually use the damn things for what they where intended....

I guess its more of a craving than anything. Plus the hedgecutters are getting boring at the moment. Turning into a zombie behind the grinder latly...

Been there once but not any more Rich . Same with pigeon shooting . Used to always watching flight lines drillings etc etc . Setting up a huge sack of decoys and sitting in a hide all day is the laast thing I would want to do nowadays ! Will fell a tree if you pay me but don't want to do it for fun .

Know the feeling Rich. Its even worse when you just played with a saw and want to try it out but incapable of doing so despite having the time on your hands to do so.

Thats it. Its the get it going well and not being able to use it, have to give it back, then I get anxious and have to ask the customer next time they bring something in how it went. Then the feeling comes back again..:sneaky2:

Do you not cut with a saw after you tune it?

My dealer aways has a pile of timber round the back of their work shop and make few cuts to check the saw is right.

Yes, I have a good stock of timber for cross cutting... Yawn how boring...

A saw for ground use is always thrown into timber, depending on the repair, if new pot and piston a tank goes through it, local tree surgeon gets some timber logged up and I test a saw.

If a top handle it also goes to the local tree surgeon when I'm groundie that day so it can be tested properly up a tree, as the 200t can run perfectly on the ground but its not until its up a tree that problems can become apparant IMO.
