Theres a few knobbers like this about. You did right refusing it, although theres folk that will. They end up on youtube.

A mates boss who owns a manor house offered me `a few logs`to take down a large beech.A job i`d assessed at being a couple of grands worth. Not all of them mind, he wanted the majority.Haha, eeerm, no.

My mate was all for sticking a ladder in it and setting forth with his 020av.His boss is loaded, but quite happy to let an employee do dangerous work for nothing.I managed to talk him out of going up fortunately.

I had to sort out a job recently after the farm had rolled and wrote of a brand new manitu ... I originally quoted for it very cheaply but the farmer said no to expensive... I heard the insurance would not pay out as it was not supposed to be used for pushing over 70ft leylandii's so any price really would of been cheaper !

I have just been offered the chance by a friend of my brother to cut down a tree at a house that he has just bought and refurbed as an investment property. Luckily for me I get to keep the wood for my fire (obviously after splitting and seasoning at my own property)! Yes I have a chainsaw and yes I use it to cut logs in my garden but he knows that I am no tree surgeon so no I will not be climbing his tree and killing myself in the process.

The strange thing is that my suggestion of getting a professional in to do it seems to be considered a 'waste of money'! Did the mortgage company work for free? The estate agent? The builders?

Sorry rant over! :mad1:

HI FARMER sound like a :lol::lol:to me mate owell it takes all types thanks jon
