Pfanner Protos Integral arborist helmet

It's nothing special and doesn't warrant it's extra cost especially if it does not offer sufficient protection against chippers meaning I have to buy a second helmet for chipper use. I look for utilitarian kit that works and is reliable, personally I wouldn't work with anyone who uses a Protos helmet as they are prima Donna's who doesn't believe in feeding the chipper.

Well I wouldn't worry Marc. With that judgemental stinky attitude, no one will want to work with you.

Having said that, I reckon you're joking because we're used to more intelligent posts from you.

Incidentally, I have wondered if some people would buy it because they think it looks cool. I actually think I look a bit silly in mine but I wear one because the ventilation is better than other helmets.

Keep safe

Al.

Swapped between my husky ground helmet today and the Protos while I was crosscutting, since I had been giving it some thought since this thread started.

Quite honestly I found no difference in sound reduction.

The big difference is in comfort.

I am disappointed you didn't rise to that sooner:sneaky2: opinions are always going to be strong I always try to keep an open impartial mindset, still doesn't mean if someone came to work with me and had a Protos that I wouldn't rip them. Having not been on Arbtalk for a while I just felt like joking with you.

I like the Vent for reason I stated earlier its simple it works you can use multiple visor and ear muff configs.

Cool. Good answer with good reasons.

So it seems that it's definitely personal preference and we both agree the Protos is the better helmet.

Haha 😂😂
