I've used plastic padding, (think that's what it was called) which is a car body type filler to seal the fuel tank on an 020. Leaving them running and vibrating on a hard surface used to wear away the two halves of the body on the underside. It was petrol proof after setting, but might of needed 24hrs to set fully. Sorry not much use really:blushing:

Had wondered about silicon but did not know if petrol or Aspen would dissolve it. Haven't got any plastic padding but do have some Araldite resin would this be OK?

you can only try, but I've a suspicion that the solvent (petrol) might dissolve it. Really don't know, it may work given time to set properly.

New gromit.

Silicon will not stick and the fuel will very quickly dissolve it.

Super glue will eat away at the plastics. Unless is designed for plastic. But even then if it destryes the tank area a new gromit will be no good.

Thanks Rich:thumbup:

That seals it. Well leaves it unsealed

New grommet it is.

PS Are you interested in other lifeboats? Got some nice snaps of two in Brixham yesterday.
