Yes...yes you are haha, sounds like it could be one of a short list of things so ill just put it down to wear and tear I think, still £170 out of pocket for a new set though :(

Probably cos more than a few have seen it, or what happens when a blade fails and goes up/through the discharge shoot:wtf:

 

Yea herd some sorry tails on that front . We got a Jensen A 540 and so far its all good ( fingers crossed ) :001_smile:

My dad had the bright idea of taking it to my brothers fab shop and having it welded till I snapped at him and swiftly told him the possible outcomes of having a dodgy blade, he soon retracted his suggestion! Parents have the best suggestions don't they haha :P

Yea they usually have your best interests at heart but you need to be in possession of all the facts and all the possibilities and that applies to life in general me thinks ..........:001_smile:

i had a knife break the tip off, land across the anvil, then hit itself on the next revolution. Very loud bang and knife pocket halfway through the flywheel in feb.

Completely destroyed the chippers flywheel. So at least you have spotted it before major damage occured. I should have had it tested or analysed independently but i sent the remains back(To a sheffield based supplier of non genuine knifes) (with promise of an metallurgist report) 6 weeks later i received a complimentary set of new blades and no report.
