Anyone use a Bilke or Urban TR processor?

Just a question as a bit of a brain picker, not looking to buy either machine but just looking for opinions and experiences.....

I like the look of Bilke processors, but I always wonder what sort of length the last log on a piece of cordwood ends up like, as there's nothing to hold it to a set length as it dives into the drum.

Are Bilkes great for long Scandinavian logs but a bit strange on short little UK logs?

I know there was a fair discussion of the Urban range of small wood nibblers a couple of years ago, and I was really pleased to see them for sale at the last APF show. Has anyone taken the plunge and is supplying little pot bellies and chimeneas with coppice and lovely little tiddly stick logs?

Ive got the bigger urban 110,not done too much with it yet, produced 16 dumpy bags of logettes one weekend, which seemed reasonable. stuff dries quickly and I was impressed that the 60 hp tractor driving it only used 1 litreof fuel to produce a bag of fuel.

Main problem to marketing the fuel is its bitty appearance, more of a shovel on affair really, but take it from me theres plenty of heat in it.

A friend has a Bilke - strong, simple and devastatingly effective. He puts all sorts of rubbish through from normal cord to crooked wiggly stuff to heavy boards, posts, whatever. Some are complete with nails and all - it just chews them up and spits them out, no bother.

Can't fault it for robustness, high conveyor speed seems a bit odd at first but you get used to it. Takes next to no driving either and no 'control system' to man. Shove it in one end, it comes out the other in bits. Repeat until timber-less. Just a shame it won't take the bigger stuff.
