MS200T carb problem

I know but I was on the phone to them for 20 minutes and had to drag the info out of them! What the real kicker is the older carbs on the 200T didn't seem to suffer any problems so why change them or get them manufactured elsewhere? Of course the answer to this has to lie in saving money.

No,it down to legislation, they are trying to get them to burn cleaner.

Exactly, I was told though by Stihl technicians to steal any type A carbs I find.

Its a shame the reliability issue, but heck the 200t is still the best saw out there.

I treat my 200 like dirt, It never gets cleaned, has epoxy resin patches in the tank, the engine is just full of baked on crud. the lanyard D ring broke last week and it dropped 20' onto the concrete path below. Its a rough dog but It bites. It owes me nothing it must be 4 years old at least , its a hybrid of 3 020 and 200T's. I thrash it. It makes me so much money I don't want to retire it, just let it die in battle. I will have to get a replacement sat on the shelf ready to go though.

Maybe we could have pictures of the ugliest working 200t . Just for fun no prizes.

I analized a faulty Zama carb that was shipped to me from Australia. In the area around the fuel shut off was a tiny little crack that allowed the fuel to bypass or in some way not be distributed correctly through out the carb.

Evidently there has been many issues on these Zama carbs but of course the almighty Stihl will not fess up to the fact.I gathered the info about this problem by feedback from about 4 different forums from input the world wide.

If anybody suspects this to be the problem you will likely need a magnifying glass to see the crack as it looks just like a parting line in the main carb body .There is no repair,it must be replaced.

Jonesie, just bought a 200t from you today, what carb has it got and am I likely to have any problems? I know your after sales is excellent but I can do without the hasstle.

It has the latest carb on it (E), you shouldn't have any problems, I put a copy of our latest price list in with your saw, if anyone else wants a copy PM me your details.
