I would use bees wax or danish oil, but it proberly doesn't need it really. Theres lemon oil, but i suppose when you light the fire and gets hot all you will smell is lemons. The chestnut products are very good IMO.

As Ian says really, or you could just leave it to gain its own patina, it does look well mate proper chunky:001_smile:

Looks really good. Got to get me a planking jig! Just better keep my better half away from your pictures or i think she'll want one! Give it a rub down with some natural beeswax or a bit of danish oil. try a bit on the bottom corner to see which finish you (or your mum) prefers.

haha i,l make you one if u like,dont bother me,yeah i think el naturel is the way forward,think i might make a yew one next!

 

make sure you get a good mask mate if you are working with yew, especially if you are sanding.:001_smile:
